A little bit about me and why I do what I do...
My name is Shannon Ross and I am a 22 year old portrait artist from Glasgow, Scotland.
For as long as I can remember I have been very interested in drawing. It was always my favourite subject in both Primary school and High school. Being good with a pencil just came naturally to me and I've always been drawn to portraiture (pun not intended). I've never really had much confidence and I've always been shy, so I love that I have a talent to be proud of and can happily share it with the world.
All of my drawings have been created using either Prismacolor premier coloured pencils or graphite pencils. Some of the drawings you see on my page are drawings that I have decided to create and some are commissions that I've done for customers. I love being able to create exactly what a customer wants. It's great to be able to provide someone with something unique and personal. Each piece of artwork can take hours upon hours to make, but the finished product and the reaction I receive makes it completely worthwhile. I dedicate all of my time to drawing but doing what I love for a living makes it seem like a fun hobby rather than a job. I have a love for ice hockey which is why a lot of my work is hockey related. It's really fun to combine my art with the sport I enjoy.
I really appreciate you taking the time to visit my page and I hope that you like my work!
